Chapter History
Parsons Chapter #91 was instituted on April 24, 1921 with 40 Charter Members, purchasing five pedestals and a piano. In 1922-23, a flag and emblematic ribbons for the officers were purchased. 1 925-26 an Altar drape and electric star were added. A lovely white Bible was presented to the Chapter by a Past Matron in 1929-30. 1933-34 saw the purchase of material for chair and Altar covers which members made. A signet was purchased for $95.00 in 193637.
We observed our first Friendship Night in 1939-40. 1941-42 a new Sheaf and Veil were purchased. We observed our 25th Anniversary in 1926 with many gala occasions. 1949-50 brought our first Joint Grand Visitation with Walter Chapter #43 of Davis.
We purchased our Labyrinth in 1950-51, pedestals in 1951-52, new crown and scepter in 1952-53, new drapes, veil, and white ballot box in 1954-55. Our 35th Anniversary was observed in 1956. Rainbow was instituted in 1956-57. 1957-58 purchased an air conditioner, 1958-59 a refrigerator for lodge hail.
White chairs were purchased for the Star Points in 1960-61.
1970-71 saw us celebrating 50 years. The Rainbow charter was surrendered in 1976-77. We changed our meeting night to once a month instead of twice.
1982-83 - we purchased a chair lift with many projects to earn money for this. Worthy Matron presented a new gavel to the Chapter in 1983-84 and we raised dues to $10.00.
1995-96 Sister Eleanor Brewer, WGM, presented us with a new baton on Grand Visitation night. Three of our brothers made us a cabinet to hold our signet in 1999-2000.
2002-03 saw us in our new building on one floor. We purchased the carpeting for the new structure. 2002-06 - we purchased a new microwave, file cabinet, refrigerator and new beaded drapes for the women to wear on special occasions. Grand Ruth presented a new Sheaf to Chapter. 2006-07 saw us buying a new gas range for the kitchen and brother Mike Adkins made us an island, also.
