Chapter History
Our Chapter was named in honor of Winolia Davies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Davies, who died of burns she received in a fire at the age of four. She was born in the year 1909 and died in 1912. She is buried in the cemetery in Mt. Hope behind the Mt. Hope High School Gymnasium.
It is a tradition of each Worthy Matron of the chapter, during her year, to decorate the grave of Winolia.
Our chapter was instituted September 27, 1911. At the time the chapter received its charter they met on the first and third Friday of each month at 8:00 p.m..
The first Committee listed in the first by-laws of this chapter was a committee to help members in need. The Worthy Matron had authority to give $10.00 to anyone in need recommended by the Committee. The first initiation was held January 1, 1912
