Chapter History
Buckhannon Chapter #18 Order of the Eastern Star was organized January 15, 1906 and officers were installed on February 9, 1906. The final approval of the charter was given during the Grand Chapter Session in October 1906. The date on the Charter is October 4, 1906. There were forty-six charter members and each of them are listed in the 1975 By-Laws of our Chapter. Our thanks and gratitude are extended to those who led the way for us today.
We celebrated our 100th Anniversary on October 24, 2006. General Grand Chapter was organized in 1904 - only two years before our Chapter received a charter. The wheels of our Chapter have been kept moving by the loyal and faithful service of our Chapter Officers, sideliners and visitors who have never failed to support us, helping in any way they could. All of these serve a valuable role in any success we attain.
