Chapter History
Our Chapter was chartered on February 10, 1929. The Chapter was housed in an older building that was in the downtown section of town and was ruined by the 1985 flood. Rowlesburg Chapter moved to its new home in 1987. After the Flood a new Lodge hall was built in another section and we are in that building now. This Chapter has had a Worthy Grand Patron Bro. George Gall We have had several grand officers, Sisters’ Connie Fint, Jean Wolfe, Janice Crane and the late Isabelle Watson and Emily Sanders. We have 28 living 50 year members of which we are very proud. In 1996 Kingwood Chapter #62 merged with our chapter and we have worked together very nicely.
Out of seven (7) chapters chartered in 1929-1930 only two chapters are still alive. Rowlesburg and Cass, At Christmas instead of exchanging small gifts, our officers and members give at least a $5.00 donation to our local food pantries. We were able last year to give $800.00 dollars. We also send Christmas cards to our 50 year members and any shut-in members that we are aware of. We have a had a deputy instructor from our chapter, Connie Fint.
